First ArbeiterKind.de get-together in Kamp-Lintfort
In December, students and members of the AStA’s Social Department met for the first time to find out more about ArbeiterKind.de, to share experiences regarding their own educational backgrounds and the topic of scholarships, and to discuss how teaching staff and university staff can be made aware of the specific situation of ‘children of workers’ and recruited as advocates. As part of the diversity audit and beyond, there will be regular communication with and within the university’s Diversity Commission to ensure the proposed measures receive sufficient visibility and support.
The new group wishes to focus on providing information to pupils at schools in the region and is considering which school contacts it can already establish itself to contribute to this.
At the Kamp-Lintfort campus, the group will work closely with the AStA’s Social Department and will also be available to students.
