The current issues and challenges in the care sector are extremely complex and varied. The ‘Take Care in Kleve’ event on 29 November 2019 is all about testing, experiencing and developing innovative solutions.
Together with Care for Innovation e.V., a network of young start-ups in the care sector, Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences is organising a two-day conference on this topic. The ‘Take Care in Kleve’ event is all about testing, experiencing and developing innovative solutions for the care sector. “With a completely new and somewhat different format, we want to bring together people who deal with care and the challenges posed by digitalisation in their everyday lives. We, as a university, can also benefit from this – for example, for our Health Sciences and Management degree programme,” says Professor Dr Frank Schmitz, Professor of Business Administration at the Faculty of Life Sciences, who is responsible for the event on behalf of the university.
The programme is interactive and varied. Following a welcome address by University President Dr Oliver Locker-Grütjen, keynote speeches and insights will be delivered by, amongst others, Andreas Westerfellhaus, the Federal Government’s Commissioner for Nursing Care, and representatives from welfare organisations. In addition, various BarCamp sessions offer the opportunity to exchange views and discuss current issues in care with care experts in a relaxed setting. The founders of Care for Innovation e.V. will be available for interviews, during which interested parties can ask questions about setting up a business. Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences will provide an insight into its programmes for start-ups and current projects. Students who took part in the ‘Best Idea Cup’ – an ideas competition for a start-up or an innovation project – will talk about their experiences and their motivation for starting a business.
The event will take place on 29 November 2019 from 12.00 to 18.00, followed by a social gathering, and on 30 November 2019 from 9.30 am to 2.30 pm at the Kleve campus of Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, Marie-Curie-Straße 1, in the Lecture Theatre Centre, Building 01. We invite healthcare professionals, associations, organisations, politicians, start-ups, founders, students and trainees, as well as anyone else who is interested. Attendance is free of charge. However, registration is required (via Eventbrite) by 27 November 2019.
