The university honoured this year’s Bachelor’s and Master’s graduates with a celebratory farewell ceremony. As part of a festive programme, the former students were presented with their certificates, along with best wishes for the future.
Three, two, one – hats in the air! That was the call once again in Kleve and Kamp-Lintfort during the graduation ceremony for Bachelor’s and Master’s graduates. Their certificates were presented to them at the Stadthalle in Kleve and in the Audimax on the Kamp-Lintfort campus. “We share in your joy at having successfully completed your studies and are convinced that this has provided you with an excellent foundation for starting your careers. We wish you every success in your future endeavours,” said Dr Oliver Locker-Grütjen, President of Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences. In total, Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences bid farewell to 684 graduates.
Numerous prizes and honours were also awarded once again:
The Friends’ Association of Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, together with the Lower Rhine Business Association and the ALTANA Group, presented awards for outstanding achievements. Graduate Purvish-Sureshchandra Bhatt from the Master’s programme in Mechanical Engineering at the Faculty of Technology and Bionics was honoured by the Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences Friends’ Association (Förderverein Hochschule Rhein-Waal e.V.) with a prize of 1,000 euros. Bachelor’s graduates Jean Carlos Atenkeng Tendong and Cedric Jablonka (Environment and Energy, and Psychology – Industrial and Organisational Psychology) and Bachelor’s graduate Sarah-Maria Rostalski (Media and Communication Informatics) from the Faculty of Communication and Environment each received a prize worth 500 euros from the ALTANA Group. The Unternehmerschaft Niederrhein e.V. recognised the achievements of graduate Florian Kreppel from the Bachelor’s programme in Quality, Environment, Safety and Hygiene at the Faculty of Life Sciences with a prize of 1,000 euros. All the prize winners are distinguished by their outstanding academic achievements, having completed their degrees within the standard duration of study, as well as their additional social or cultural involvement in various projects at Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences.
Katjes Fassin GmbH & Co. KG once again sponsored its Katjes Prize, worth 1,000 euros. All final-year dissertations from the Faculty of Society and Economics from the previous year that received a ‘very good’ grade are eligible for nomination. The university selects the winner in collaboration with the company. The best thesis is awarded on the basis of the following criteria: the practical relevance of the topic, the innovativeness of the approach, the feasibility of the results and academic rigour. This year’s Katjes Prize was awarded to Ann-Kathrin Koch from the Bachelor’s programme in International Business and Social Sciences.
The ZONTA Student Award, worth 1,000 euros, was also presented. The ZONTA Club Niederrhein honours the exceptional social commitment of student Nele Schöfisch from the Bachelor’s programme in Psychology (Work and Organisational Psychology) at the Faculty of Communication and Environment.
The Campus Camp-Lintfort e.V. Friends’ Association presented a total of twelve awards to the top graduates from each degree programme at the Faculty of Communication and Environment in Kamp-Lintfort. A sum of 200 euros each was awarded to the following Bachelor’s graduates: Thi Yen Thu Nguyen (Communication and Information Engineering), Simon Nick Möllers (E-Government), Davide Scola (Environment and Energy), Nora Warschewski (Information and Communication Design), Agnes Maria Kelm (International Business Administration), Sandra Elke Lopez Janssen (Media and Communication Informatics), Nathalie Birgit Schack (Mobility and Logistics) and Franziska Wolf (Psychology (Work and Organisational Psychology)), as well as to the Master’s graduates Jonathan Chung-Hua Yen (Digital Media), Marco Roman Pleines (Information Engineering and Computer Science), Julia Voß (International Management and Psychology) and Evan James Burton (Usability Engineering).
