Enthusiastic singers are also still being sought for the project choir at the Kamp-Lintfort campus festival, as part of the university’s 10th-anniversary celebrations. The choir, formed especially for this occasion, will provide musical accompaniment for the opening ceremony on 14 June.
This year, Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences is celebrating its tenth anniversary. The celebrations will include the campus festival in Kamp-Lintfort on 14 and 15 June 2019. A project choir is being formed for the opening ceremony – which will feature an entertaining programme on Friday evening – and for a further performance the following Saturday; the choir will provide the musical opening to the festival and accompany the proceedings. Accompanied by atmospheric pyrotechnic effects, the choir will treat guests to an international medley to mark Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences’ first milestone anniversary.
Anyone from Kamp-Lintfort and the surrounding region who enjoys singing, as well as students and staff at the university, are invited to join this choir and take part in the celebrations. Even those who cannot read music are welcome to sing along. “As the campus festival will be a special highlight of our anniversary year, we hope to inspire many people with this idea and encourage them to get involved,” said Professor Dr Eberhard Menzel, Acting President.
To bring all these voices together as a choir, there is still a great deal of hard work to be done in rehearsals. Under the direction of Christoph Terbonssen, a lecturer at the Kamp-Lintfort Music School, rehearsals will take place on the following dates at the Kamp-Lintfort Music School, Moerser Straße 316, basement, Room 015:
Monday, 20 May, from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm
Monday, 27 May, from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm
Saturday, 1 June, from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm
Monday, 3 June, 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm
A performance is planned for Friday, 14 June, at around 7.00 pm. A further performance is scheduled for Saturday, 15 June, at 11.00 am. The venue and time for the warm-up session will be announced in due course.
There are no participation fees for singers. Anyone wishing to take part is asked to register by 17 May 2019 at musik@hochschule-rhein-waal.de. Sarah Lampe from Management Hochschulmusik is also available to answer any questions at this email address.
