A lightbulb for ideas
The name ‘Klever Birne’ refers to an ideas competition launched by the City of Kleve in collaboration with Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences. ‘Klever Birne’ aims to raise awareness of sustainability goals at both global and local levels. The aim is to work with the people of Kleve to develop new ideas for sustainable measures.
Enter the Klever Birne 2026 competition!
Who can take part?
Anyone actively committed to sustainability can apply for the competition – including organisations, associations, companies, start-ups, educational institutions, students, and committed individuals or groups. Schools in the Kleve district are also eligible to enter for a special additional prize.
What are the prizes?
1st prize: €2,000
2nd prize: €1,500
3rd prize: €1,000
People’s Choice Award: €100 city voucher
Special prize for schools in the Kleve district: €1,000*

Simply email your fully completed entry form to transregint@hochschule-rhein-waal.de. By submitting your entry, you confirm that you accept the terms and conditions. The application period runs until 30 June 2026.
