Sustainable food systems
Working conditions in agriculture, food processing, the utilisation of waste materials, innovative production systems such as ‘edible forests’, 3D-printed food, and so on – the scope of HSRW’s Research Focus (FSP) on ‘Sustainable Food Systems’ is wide-ranging. The FSP brings together ongoing research and the expertise of numerous academics at the university in the fields of sustainable natural resource management, nutrition, health and the bioeconomy, with the aim of strategically developing forward-looking research topics and raising their profile externally.

Support and participation
Living a self-determined life – this is the focus of the research priority ‘Assistance and Participation’, which, since early 2022, has been bringing together all relevant research activities from various academic disciplines. The possibility of social participation and the support required for this are thus examined in an inter- and transdisciplinary manner, i.e. through exchange and joint consideration across the various academic disciplines. In an increasingly digitalised society, this involves, on the one hand, access to knowledge and, on the other, the optimal use of technical possibilities, such as research into technical assistance systems.
