Student Parliament (StuPa)

The Student Parliament is the highest decision-making body of the university’s constituted student body and elects the Executive Committee of the AStA (General Student Committee, the executive body of the constituted student body). The Student Parliament acts as the supervisory body for the AStA.

The Student Parliament holds open meetings at least once a month during the Lecture period. Information for students, including meeting dates, agendas and minutes, can be found on the StuPa’s Moodle course.

The meetings take place alternately at the Kleve and Kamp-Lintfort campuses. The Student Parliament carries out its duties in accordance with North Rhine-Westphalia higher education law, the applicable state regulations such as the HWVO (North Rhine-Westphalia Budget and Financial Management Ordinance) and the statutes and regulations of the Student Body of Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences (Statutes of the Student Body, Financial Regulations of the Student Body, Election Regulations of the Student Body, Fees Regulations of the Student Body).

The StuPa determines the financial and organisational framework for the entire student body, as well as for the faculty student councils, which are otherwise independent of it. The AStA acts as the executive body representing the student body externally and makes decisions on the day-to-day affairs of the student body. The Student Parliament always makes decisions on important and fundamental matters concerning the entire student body. The Student Parliament maintains a standing Election Committee and a Budget Committee, which make recommendations and are involved in the decision-making process in accordance with the applicable statutes and regulations.

Enrolled students at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences are entitled to submit motions to the Student Parliament in accordance with the applicable statutes and regulations of the student body.
