The zdi Centre in Kamp-Lintfort for the Wesel district is part of the state initiative ‘Zukunft durch Innovation.NRW’ (zdi), which aims to promote the next generation of talent in STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). With over 2,700 partners from business, academia, schools, politics and society, zdi is the largest network of its kind in Europe.
In the Wesel district, we connect schools, universities, businesses and other partners to inspire children and young people to take an interest in science and technology at an early age and to give them practical insights into fields of study and careers.
Our programme includes projects, courses and events across the entire educational spectrum – from nursery school through to the transition to higher education or vocational training. This includes, amongst other things, professional development for nursery schools and primary schools, the Kids’ Uni at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, the zdi robotics competition, and career and study guidance services in collaboration with regional partners.
There is also a particular focus on digital manufacturing technologies at the FabLab Kamp-Lintfort, which gives schools in the Wesel district access to topics such as 3D printing and personal fabrication.
The zdi Centre in Kamp-Lintfort is run by Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences.
