April: Professor Dr Marie-Louise Klotz was appointed Founding President and Dr Martin Goch was appointed Vice-President for Financial and Human Resources Management at the university.

1 May: Official foundation of Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences.

August: Decision by the North Rhine-Westphalia Ministry of Innovation regarding the university’s campuses in Kleve and Kamp-Lintfort, as well as the construction of new buildings.    

September: The university launches with three Bachelor’s degree programmes: “Bio Science and Health”, “International Business and Social Sciences” and “E-Government”. A total of 15 students begin their studies.
