Germany Ticket

The Deutschlandticket is a discounted ticket for local public transport, available to students for the duration of
a semester. It is already included in the semester fee and therefore does not need to be purchased separately.

With this ticket, students can make unlimited use of regional and local transport within Germany.
This enables cost-effective and environmentally friendly travel between their home, university and leisure activities

The ticket is valid exclusively for currently enrolled students and is non-transferable.
It is important to note that the ticket is only valid when accompanied by official photo ID, such as an identity card or passport

The ticket is valid for the semester in which it was issued and must therefore be purchased anew each semester.

Students purchase the Deutschlandticket automatically when they pay their semester fees and re-enrol for the new semester. As the ticket is based on a solidarity model, students are obliged to purchase it. Students taking part in an external internship or a Semester abroad are exempt from this requirement.

The Deutschlandticket is valid on all buses and trains in Germany that do not require a supplement. The only exceptions are ICE and EC trains. 

Important note: The ticket is only valid for travel in 2nd class!

Unfortunately, you cannot take bicycles on board free of charge. However, you can purchase an additional ticket for this on buses and trains.
