Two locations
Our university has two campuses: Kleve and Kamp-Lintfort. Both campuses offer modern lecture theatres and laboratories, short distances between lectures and the canteen, and a vibrant campus life with sport, music and international student societies. In Kleve, you will find plenty of nature and peace and quiet to unwind, whilst Kamp-Lintfort scores highly for its location: quick access to the town and quick access to the campus. Whichever you choose, both campuses have their own unique strengths and offer you a personalised, practice-oriented degree programme.
International
On campus, you will meet people from over 120 countries and lecturers with a wide range of experiences making lectures, projects and campus life exciting and varied. You can study many degree programmes entirely in English. Even if you choose to study German, you will experience the international atmosphere everywhere: in projects, at events and in everyday life. Through exchange programmes, language courses and international projects, you will gain international experience early on, make friends from all over the world and lay the foundations for a global career.
Practical
At our university, studying means doing rather than just listening. In state-of-the-art laboratories, on real-world projects and in collaboration with companies, you will tackle real-life tasks, often from your very first year of study. This allows you to gain practical experience, develop key skills, make valuable contacts and prepare specifically for your start in your career
Good to know
As a campus-based university, the majority of our lectures and activities take place on site on campus. This means you not only get to know your fellow students and lecturers in person, but also benefit from direct interaction, practical exercises and a vibrant campus life.
We offer online events on an ad hoc basis to complement our programme, for example for specific guest lectures, specialised modules or flexible revision of course content. However, the focus remains firmly on face-to-face learning together.
To apply for our Bachelor’s degree programmes, you will need proof of B2-level English. We accept a German “Abitur” or “Fachabitur” certificate as proof of B2-level English. We know that most students start with school English, and our lecturers take this into account in their teaching methods, pace and materials. All applicants with an international school education require one of the following language certificates.
With us, you do not pay any tuition fees, just the semester fee! The Germany Semester Ticket is included, so you can easily travel throughout Germany. You can also take advantage of many offers, such as university sports or university music, for free or at very low cost. Your proof of enrolment also counts as a Culture Ticket: with it, you get reduced admission to certain cultural attractions, such as museums. This leaves you with more money for the things that matter to you.
Start by getting a general overview of the various degree programmes, find out about the specific course content, and make use of information sessions and other opportunities to get to know the university. If you need further advice, please contact the Study Advisory Service – regardless of whether you ultimately decide to study at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences.
Step by step: Check the relevant deadlines well in advance and get your documents ready. The application process is entirely digital, so you don’t need to send any documents by post. You can check the status of your application yourself at any time.
Lively, international and welcoming. You will quickly meet people at both campuses: in lectures, over lunch in the canteen, at university sports events, or at music and other cultural events. Student representative bodies, such as the faculty councils or the General Student Commitee ("AStA"), offer you plenty of opportunities to get involved and help shape the university. With short distances, green spaces and modern learning environments, a real community is created where you can feel at home and settle in.
