The use of the library of Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences is generally free of charge. However, fees may be charged for exceeding the loan period or for library services.

You can usually pay any fees incurred in cash or by EC card during service hours at the information desk.

If the total amount of fees exceeds €25.00, the library account is automatically blocked. Loans and renewals as well as the use of library services are only possible again once the fees have been paid.

Late fees

You have missed the end of the loan period? The following late fees may apply:

up to 20 calendar days after due date €5.00
up to 30 calendar days after due date €10.00
up to 40 calendar days after due date €15.00


It is your responsibility to keep track of the due dates for media or keys you have borrowed. Therefore, please regularly check your library account in Katalog PLUS. Here you can usually also renew media and keys that are already overdue.

If you have not returned an item for more than 40 calendar days past the due date, the library is authorised to purchase a replacement copy at your expense and charge a processing fee of € 10,00 per case.
