Kleve/Kamp-Lintfort, 18 June 2014: In order to remain competitive on the international stage, manufacturing companies must always produce their goods efficiently and continuously optimise their production processes. Knowledge of manufacturing technologies, alongside methods of integrated production planning and control, is a key component of the training of young engineers. The intelligent use of information technologies contributes just as much to a company’s success as the implementation of complementary quality and business process management systems.
At the event organised in collaboration with the Lower Rhine Chamber of Industry and Commerce (as part of the Win2 Knowledge Transfer and Innovation in the Lower Rhine programme) entitled ‘Integrated Production Management: From Turning Chips to Industry 4.0’, Prof. Klein will discuss the current state of play and trends in production engineering and production management with interested members of the public. As well as touring the production laboratory at Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, visitors will have the opportunity to learn the principles of lean production through a simulation exercise and refresh their knowledge of ‘Lean Production’.
