The Studium Generale programme for the 2016 summer term begins on Wednesday 20 April 2016 at 6.30 pm on the Kleve campus with a series of fascinating lectures on German-Dutch border relations.
Kleve/Kamp-Lintfort, 15 April 2016: An ambitious reform of the healthcare system was implemented in the Netherlands several years ago: the introduction of competitive and market-based elements was intended to improve the efficiency of the healthcare system whilst also enhancing patient-centred care. In doing so, the Netherlands has moved away from a system of statutory health insurance, such as that found in Germany, for example. This reform will be assessed from a health economics perspective, and the question of whether such a reform could serve as a model for the healthcare system in Germany will also be examined.
The lecture forms part of the Studium Generale programme. The lecture series is aimed at the general public, as well as students, lecturers and staff at Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, and presents current topics in a way that is relevant to everyday life and informative. The series also offers the opportunity to engage with current issues. “We invite everyone, regardless of age, to attend these fascinating lectures,” says the university’s President, Dr Heide Naderer. At the same time, she sees the programme as an opportunity to get to know the university’s two campuses.
Attendance at the Studium Generale lectures at Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences is free of charge for members of the public.
