This year’s Studium Generale, focusing on the theme of ‘water’, will resume on 8 January 2019 at 7.00 pm.

This year’s Studium Generale is devoted to the multifaceted theme of ‘water’. In their lecture entitled ‘Where does our wastewater go? Different options for wastewater treatment’, the speakers – Professor Dr Matthias Kleinke, Professor of Environmental Engineering at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, Karsten Koppetsch, Managing Director of the City of Kleve’s Environmental Services (AöR), and Dipl.-Ing. Barbara Dröppelmann from the Planning Office for Constructed Wetlands – on 8 January 2019 at 7.00 pm.

We all produce wastewater, every day. Yet we rarely know where it goes or why it is such a problem. So what happens to the wastewater at treatment works, and what challenges does this involve? What alternative methods are available for treating wastewater, and how do they work? The speakers will discuss these topics together and attempt to shed light on this important aspect of our daily use of water

The event will take place at the Kleve Campus of the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, Marie-Curie-Straße 1, Lecture Theatre Centre, ground floor, Room 01 EG 005 (Lecture Theatre 1).

The lecture forms part of the Studium Generale programme and has been designed to make science accessible through lectures that are easy for everyone to understand. The lecture programme is aimed at the general public, students, school pupils and anyone in the region with an interest in science, as well as professors and staff at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, with a focus on general, universal education. The lecture series also provides a platform for lively exchange and discussion on current issues.
