Dr Heide Naderer has been the new President of Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences since 1 May 2015. Last autumn, she was elected President by the University Council in agreement with the University Senate.
Kleve/Kamp-Lintfort, 4 May 2015: Dr Heide Naderer has been the new President of Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences since 1 May 2015. Last autumn, she was elected President by the University Council in agreement with the University Senate. She takes over from Prof. Dr Marie-Louise Klotz, whose term of office ended on 30 April 2015.
On 9 April 2015, State Secretary Dr Thomas Grünewald presented the certificate of appointment at the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Research (MIWF) in Düsseldorf. “I am very much looking forward to my role at Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, with its campuses in Kleve and Kamp-Lintfort, and to contributing my expertise to the university’s further development in the coming years, building on the work already done,” says the new President. “Above all, the university’s continued, quality-focused internationalisation is one of my key priorities. The discussions I have had over the past few weeks with professors, staff and students have shown just how young and dynamic this university is. With this shared momentum, it is a great start to my new term of office.”
Until December 2014, Dr Heide Naderer was Chancellor of the Konrad Wolf Film University Babelsberg in Potsdam; prior to that, she spent nine years as a head of department at RWTH Aachen University. A native of Kamp-Lintfort, she studied political science and public law at the University of Hamburg, where she also obtained her doctorate. She worked successfully in academic administration for several years before taking on the role of Deputy Head of the North American Office of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in New York and lecturing at the City University of New York.
