A child-friendly lecture by the Children’s University on the magic and impact of music on 14 September 2016. Admission is free. The lecture begins at 5.15 pm in the Audimax at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences in Kleve, Marie-Curie-Straße 1.
Kleve/Kamp-Lintfort, 2 September 2016: Music can tell stories – and how! Yet we often do not even realise that a particular melody is associated with a hero or a villain. And yet we will never truly forget these stories – thanks to the magic of music.
This talk also serves as an introduction to the children’s opera *Der Ring des Nibelungen*, performed by the Cologne Chamber Opera on 18 September 2016 at 4 pm at the Stadthalle Kleve. You can attend either event on its own, but you really shouldn’t miss either of them!
The Children’s University
Through the Children’s University, Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences offers children aged between eight and twelve the opportunity to develop a passion for the world of science through lectures (45 minutes) specially designed for them. Just like proper students, they are given student ID cards. They sit in lecture theatres and can ask real professors all sorts of questions. The big difference from a real degree course is that there are no exams to sit.

Children keen to study at the Children’s University can attend either all or just some of the lectures. The current lecture timetable for the Children’s University can be viewed on the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences website at www.hochschule-rhein-waal.de. No registration is required for the lectures. Admission is free.
