2020 State Garden Show in Kamp-Lintfort

Jubilation at the town hall: Kamp-Lintfort is to host the 2020 State Garden Show!

Remmel justified his decision by citing the town’s exciting concept. He also emphasised the particular need to develop the former West Colliery, a 40-hectare industrial brownfield site in the heart of the town. The Environment Minister also paid special tribute to public participation and the strong commitment already evident amongst the citizens of Kamp-Lintfort. Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences also supported the town with great dedication in its bid to host the 2020 State Garden Show.

Mayor Prof. Dr Christoph Landscheidt was delighted: “I am absolutely delighted that we were able to convince the evaluation committee. This is a great honour for Kamp-Lintfort. My heartfelt thanks go to everyone who supported us during the application process.”

There is still much to be done before Kamp-Lintfort can take on the role of host. The next steps are to set up a joint venture with the North Rhine-Westphalia State Working Group for Horticulture and Landscape Conservation (LAGL NW) and to enter into discussions with the state regarding potential funding opportunities.
