Interactive data visualisation in academia and business practice

Interactive visualisations are playing an increasingly important role in both academia and industry. In addition to the analysis and presentation of business data, visualisations and animations utilising virtual and augmented reality technologies are also becoming ever more significant in business and academia. The ‘VISUALIZE’ one-day conference will take place on 4 June 2019 from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm on the Kamp-Lintfort campus.

The ‘VISUALISE’ one-day conference, organised by Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, explores this interdisciplinary field. With the support of the Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences Friends’ Association (Förderverein Hochschule Rhein-Waal e.V.), representatives from academia and industry will give presentations and lead workshops. These offer the opportunity to develop creative visualisation ideas. In the workshops, under professional guidance, participants can try out and learn various visualisation methods, as well as the practical application of modern and useful tools in the fields of business intelligence (Qlik Sense), machine learning, Houdini and D3.js. Practitioners and students can broaden their methodological knowledge, whilst decision-makers can learn about current trends, particularly with regard to possibilities and limitations.

The event will take place on 4 June 2019 from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm at the Kamp-Lintfort campus of Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, Friedrich-Heinrich-Allee 25, in the lecture theatre centre and the laboratories. Attendance at the event is free of charge. To take part in the interactive workshops in the afternoon, registration is required by 2 June 2019 via the email address visualize@hochschule-rhein-waal.de or the fax number 02842 90825-0. Registration is encouraged for the lecture session.
