Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences will be exhibiting at the Greenlive trade fair in Kalkar from 5 to 7 December 2016.
Those who used GreenLive for networking or as a platform for presentations often saw an increase in customer numbers in the months that followed and were able to significantly expand their market share. Manufacturers, suppliers and service providers in the fields of livestock breeding, crop production and agricultural technology from Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium are well aware of the mutual support and valuable contacts that can be forged in Kalkar. Furthermore, GreenLive has developed into a sort of marketplace. Last year, for example, a forklift truck company from Essen sold its equipment in Kalkar to a customer in Trier. However, GreenLive’s ‘long reach’ extends not only geographically but also over time: beyond the three days of the trade fair, the organisers offer year-round support for doing business – in the form of promotion via self-produced videos and much more. The focus is on the added value of each individual company or exhibitor; customer loyalty and service are given top priority here.
Agribusiness – Career Opportunities for Women
Right at the heart of the action on the exhibitors’ side this year: Competentia NRW – the Lower Rhine Centre of Excellence for Women and Work. As part of an information and advisory service entitled ‘Marktplatz Bildung’ (Education Marketplace), the topic of ‘Career opportunities for women in agribusiness and beyond / Vocational training and careers’ will be explored in depth. Both visitors to the fair and the companies represented at Green Live will be introduced to training and funding opportunities at an information and advice stand. To this end, Competentia NRW is bringing on board institutions based in the district (and beyond) as partners. Thus, Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, the Lower Rhine Regional Agency, Perspektive Wiedereinstieg/IMBSE GmbH, the Kleve District’s economic development agencies, the North Rhine-Westphalia Chamber of Handicrafts, Agrobusiness Niederrhein e.V., the IHK’s STARTERCENTER NRW Niederrhein, and the Rheinische LandFrauenverband e.V./Kleve District Association will all be on hand for in-depth discussions.
In addition, there will be a moderated panel discussion and a special workshop for women. The thematic focus here will be on topics such as succession in agricultural businesses, funding, career profiles in agribusiness, etc. – the organisers reserve the right to make changes.
