Studium Generale: Football and Strategies in Changing Times. Hans Meyer, football coach and member of the executive committee at Borussia Mönchengladbach, will give a talk on Wednesday, 10 December 2014 at 6.00 pm at the Kamp-Lintfort campus of Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, Friedrich-Heinrich-Allee 25, Building 1, 2nd floor, Room 01 02 105. Attendance is free of charge.
Kleve/Kamp-Lintfort, 5 December 2014: Football is Hans Meyer’s life. His professional career spans 40 years as a manager in the GDR Oberliga and the Bundesliga. Hans Meyer has been a member of the executive committee at Borussia Mönchengladbach since 2011. Drawing on this wealth of experience, the expert sheds light on some of the defining features of the sport of football and its wider context. As a manager, Hans Meyer experienced Borussia first-hand and now helps shape the club as a member of the executive committee.
This lecture will focus on an analysis of competitive football at its various levels, the motivation of young people to take up the sport, and transfer activity in the market. The development of the Borussia Mönchengladbach squad in recent years, as well as the club’s current situation and its position in the Bundesliga, will also be discussed during the evening.
The lecture forms part of the Studium Generale programme. The lecture series is aimed at the general public as well as students, lecturers and staff at Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, and presents current topics in a way that is relevant to everyday life and informative. The series also offers the opportunity to engage with topical issues. “We invite everyone, regardless of age, to attend these fascinating lectures,” says the University’s President, Prof. Dr Marie-Louise Klotz. At the same time, she sees the programme as an opportunity to visit the University’s two campuses and the new buildings on the new campuses.
The Studium Generale lectures at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences are free of charge for members of the public.
