Together with the Fairtrade Steering Group at Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, the General Students’ Committee (AStA), with the support of the Friends of Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences – Cleve Campus e.V., is organising the university’s first Festival of Sustainability on 17 May.
The festival begins with an opening ceremony at 3.30 pm in Building 01, Room 010. This will be followed by a panel discussion on the ‘Sustainable Value Chain Act’ with Dr Barbara Hendricks, former Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety, Martin Schüller, Development Policy, Standards & MEL Officer at Fairtrade Germany, and Professor Dr Dirk Reiser, Professor of Sustainable Tourism Management, moderated by Dr Niklas Rolf, a political scientist specialising in international relations. In addition, there will be workshops and even clothes-swapping events for visitors to take part in. Information stands will provide useful facts on the topic. The festival will be accompanied by music and food, with food stalls offering international dishes as well as a stage programme. The event ends at 10.00 pm. Admission is free.
