Universities of Applied Sciences offering degree programmes in agriculture and agricultural engineering will be showcasing themselves at a joint stand at Agritechnica 2015, which takes place from 10 to 15 November 2015 in Hanover. They are facilitating dialogue between their students and senior management from the agricultural machinery sector. Three times a day, representatives from leading companies and organisations in the agricultural machinery industry, services, retail and the media will take their seats on the Red Sofa. The managers will answer questions from the students in public. The 15-minute interviews will focus on employers’ expectations of university graduates, career prospects for new entrants to the sector, and advice on a career in the booming agricultural machinery industry. Career opportunities in the public sector will be discussed with the Federal Plant Variety Office. The joint university stand can be found in Hall P 35.
The ‘Red Sofa’ programme was first launched in 2010. At that year’s Eurotier – which takes place alternately with Agritechnica – the participating universities established a spacious, transparent stand concept that was stripped back to the essentials. The ‘Red Sofa’ brings this concept to life. The positive response from visitors and the media suggests that it should be further developed collaboratively for future agricultural trade fairs in Hanover.
