Once again this year, there was a large turnout at the traditional welcome event for first-year students. At the Kleve campus, Professor Dr Tatiana Zimenkova welcomed the students in the Audimax, whilst at the Kamp-Linfort campus, Professor Jörg Petri welcomed the first-year students.
Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences is regarded as a young, imaginative and progressive institution. Studying here is a good choice, as it not only offers students a wide range of interesting degree programmes, but also the opportunity to develop innovative and sustainable ideas and to break new ground. At both campuses, the members of the Executive Board emphasised the importance of treating one another with respect and fairness, and encouraged the ‘newcomers’ to get actively involved in university life. In this way, they can benefit from the university’s international focus, help shape its culture of productive and peaceful coexistence, and gain valuable experience for their professional careers and future. Both Professor Zimenkova and Professor Petri wished the first-year students a good start to their university life and expressed their hope that everyone would feel at home at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, both in Kleve and in Kamp-Lintfort.
Following the official welcome, the students were able to look forward to ‘Freshers’ Week’ – the induction week featuring numerous activities, group events and interesting information stands. Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences wishes all first-year students a successful start to their studies.
