Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences honoured this year’s Bachelor’s and Master’s graduates with a celebratory farewell ceremony. As part of a festive programme, 388 former students received their certificates.
“We join you in celebrating the successful completion of your studies and are convinced that this has provided you with an excellent foundation for your career. We wish you every success in your future endeavours,” said Dr Heide Naderer, President of Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, as she congratulated the graduates.
The Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences Friends’ Association, together with the Lower Rhine Business Association and ALTANA AG, presented awards for outstanding achievements. Graduate Robert Rüpprich (Bachelor’s degree in Biomaterials Science) from the Faculty of Technology and Bionics was honoured by the Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences Friends’ Association with a prize of 1,000 euros. Bachelor’s graduates Kristin Brennhäußer (Psychology – Industrial and Organisational Psychology) and Noemi Bellò (Environment and Energy), as well as Master’s graduate Daniel Röchert (Information Engineering and Computer Science) from the Faculty of Communication and Environment, received their prizes from ALTANA AG. Each prize is worth 500 euros. The Unternehmerschaft Niederrhein e.V. recognised the achievements of graduate Britta Janssen from the Quality, Environment, Safety and Hygiene programme at the Faculty of Life Sciences with a prize of 1,000 euros. All the prize winners are distinguished by their outstanding academic achievements, having completed their studies within the standard duration, as well as their additional social or cultural involvement in various projects at Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences.
Katjes Fassin GmbH & Co. KG was also present once again with its Katjes Prize, worth 1,000 euros. All final-year dissertations from the Faculty of Society and Economics from the previous year that received excellent marks are eligible for nomination. The university selects the winners in collaboration with the company. The best thesis is awarded on the basis of the following criteria: the practical relevance of the topic, the innovativeness of the approach, the feasibility of the results and academic rigour. This year’s Katjes Prize was awarded to Thi Thanh Thanh Nguyen from the Master’s programme in Economics and Finance.
The ZONTA Student Award, worth 750 euros, was also presented once again. The ZONTA Club Niederrhein honours the exceptional social commitment of graduate Phyllis Wamukore Ndugire from the Bachelor’s programme in Mechanical Engineering at the Faculty of Technology and Bionics.
The Förderverein Campus Camp-Lintfort e.V. presented a total of twelve awards to the top graduates from each degree programme at the Faculty of Communication and Environment in Kamp-Lintfort. A sum of 200 euros each was awarded to:
Ahmed Belal Mohamed Ahmed Abdellatif from the Bachelor’s programme in Communication and Information Engineering, Thomas Schäfer from the Bachelor’s programme in E-Government, Noemi Bellò from the Bachelor’s programme in Environment and Energy, Julian Peschel from the Bachelor’s programme in Information and Communication Design; Kristin Brennhäußer from the Bachelor’s programme in Psychology (Industrial and Organisational Psychology); Fabian Hähn from the Bachelor’s programme in International Business and Social Sciences, Marwin Wiegard from the Bachelor’s programme in Media and Communication Informatics, Johanna Janßen from the Bachelor’s programme in Mobility and Logistics, Regina König from the Master’s programme in International Management and Psychology, Heike Hörnschemeyer from the Master’s programme in Usability Engineering, Daniel Röchert from the Master’s programme in Information Engineering and Computer Science, and Daniel Terpoorten from the Master’s programme in Digital Media.
