A packed Audimax, a great atmosphere and plenty of reasons to celebrate: on 10 October, the Faculty of Communication and Environment bid farewell to its graduates at a festive graduation ceremony on the Kamp-Lintfort campus.
Dean Prof. Dr Klaus Hegemann opened the afternoon’s proceedings and acted as moderator throughout the programme. In his welcoming address, he reflected on the past academic years and highlighted the students’ dedication, creativity and perseverance.
In the subsequent welcoming addresses and honours, various representatives from the university and the support associations took the floor. Prof. Dr Daniela Lud spoke on behalf of the academic staff, whilst Maike Tischler represented the students and reflected on their time together at university.
The Campus Camp-Lintfort e.V. Friends’ Association, represented by Frank Rattmann, presented awards to the top graduates from the degree programmes.
Eva Folkerts and Lena Neumann from the Hochschule Rhein-Waal e.V. Friends’ Association and the Altana Group congratulated Sivakumar Shreevarshan on the best final dissertation, carried out in collaboration with local businesses.
Following the ceremonial presentation of the certificates, Elvi Likaj performed another piece of music, before everyone gathered in the courtyard for the traditional group photograph. At the champagne reception that followed, many took the opportunity to catch up, share memories and raise a glass together to this new chapter in their lives.
