In the public debate, little attention has so far been paid to female migrants with vocational or higher education qualifications in relation to the shortage of skilled workers. In fact, many female migrants have a university education. Based on a study into the labour market integration of highly qualified female migrants, this Studium Generale lecture offers an insight into the career paths of female migrants with a university education in Germany. This study is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and focuses in particular on women with a university education in the STEM subjects – Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

The lecture forms part of the Studium Generale programme. The lecture series is aimed at the general public, students, lecturers and staff at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, and presents current topics in a way that is relevant to everyday life and informative. The series also offers the opportunity to engage with current issues.

The Studium Generale lectures at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences are free of charge to the general public. Further information on the Studium Generale is available online at www.hochschule-rhein-waal.de.
