Applications are now open for the dual study programme in Administrative IT – E-Government (B.Sc.) in partnership with the Ministry for Home Affairs, Local Government, Building and Digitalisation of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia
Public administration is often seen as too slow and not innovative enough. Yet the exact opposite is frequently the case: for the digital transformation of public administration, we are looking for young, creative people who want to help shape the administration of the future.
The application period for the Administrative Informatics – E-Government (B.Sc.) degree programme at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences is now open. The Ministry of Home Affairs, Local Government, Construction and Digitalisation of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia is funding 100 places for administrative IT trainees. Of these, 25 places are reserved for applicants from local authorities.

Students acquire skills in information technology, administrative processes, project management, data protection and law. They learn to design digital solutions, model processes and professionally support change within the administrative environment. Graduates are highly sought-after specialists – for example, as digitalisation officers, IT project managers or e-government consultants.
Background information:
- Since the 2020/2021 winter semester, the Administrative Information Technology – E-Government (B.Sc.) degree programme has offered a dual study option in cooperation between the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences. The first cohort of graduates was honoured at a graduation ceremony in November 2024.
- The dual study programme combines theory and practice right from the start. The focus is not solely on technology: students develop solutions that make everyday life easier for citizens. They help ensure that public authorities operate more efficiently, are more accessible and are more service-oriented.
- The programme is offered at the Kamp-Lintfort campus of Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences. The course lasts eight semesters and combines two full-time academic semesters with a one-year work placement at one of ten selected training organisations in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
