Students on the ‘Sustainable Tourism’ degree programme at the Faculty of Society and Economics at Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences visited Weeze Airport.
Kleve/Kamp-Lintfort, 29 January 2016: 46 third-semester students on the ‘Sustainable Tourism’ degree programme at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences visited Weeze Airport. Holger Terhorst, Head of Marketing at Weeze Airport, gave the students a fascinating behind-the-scenes tour and provided an impressive insight into the day-to-day operations of a regional airport. During the visit, the students first learnt interesting facts about the airport during a presentation and, as the excursion progressed, had the opportunity to explore the publicly accessible areas of the terminal. The highlight was a behind-the-scenes tour of the security area, which illustrated the wide range of tasks carried out by staff there.
This visit, which has now become a tradition, further strengthened the partnership between Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences and Weeze Airport. Plans are already firmly in place to repeat the visit in the coming semesters.
