The AStA’s annual food collection drive for the Klever Tafel has become something of a tradition. The university’s Executive Board and Edeka Brüggemeier are now supporting the initiative. Food worth 1,000 euros will now be distributed to people who lack the bare necessities.
The staff at the Klever Tafel were clearly delighted by the generous donation from the Executive Board of Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences and Edeka Brüggemeier when it was handed over: food worth 1,000 euros will now go to people who lack the bare necessities. Dr Oliver Locker-Grütjen, President of Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, supports the AStA’s fundraising campaign: “We were inspired by the AStA’s annual Christmas fundraising campaign for the food bank and were keen to get involved! We are delighted that, together with our immediate neighbour Edeka Brüggemeier, we can bring joy to so many people this Christmas.”
AStA Chair Joshua Lehmann is also very pleased with the fundraising campaign: “We have already received numerous food donations over the past two weeks; about half of these came from members of the public and the other half from students and staff at the university. Thanks to the generous donation from the university’s Executive Board and Edeka Brüggemeier, a considerable amount of food has now been added to the total.”
