A project choir is being set up to mark the campus festival, which forms part of the birthday celebrations. We are now looking for members who are enthusiastic about the project and would like to sing at the Kleve campus.
This year, Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences is celebrating its tenth anniversary. The celebrations will include the campus festival in Kleve on 24 and 25 May 2019. A project choir is being formed for the opening ceremony on Friday evening, which will feature an entertaining programme; the choir will provide the musical introduction to and accompaniment for the festivities. Accompanied by atmospheric fireworks, the choir will perform an international medley for the guests to mark Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences’ first milestone anniversary.
Anyone from Kleve and the surrounding region who enjoys singing, as well as students and staff at the university, are invited to join this choir and take part in the celebrations. Even those who cannot read music are welcome to sing along. “As the campus festival will be a special highlight for us in this anniversary year, we hope to inspire many people with this idea and encourage them to get involved,” said Professor Dr Eberhard Menzel, Acting President.
To bring all these voices together as a choir, there is still a great deal of hard work to be done in rehearsals. Under the direction of Manfred Hendricks, rehearsals will take place on the following dates at the Kleve campus of Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, Marie-Curie-Straße 1, in the Lecture Theatre Centre, ground floor, Room 01 EG 007:
Wednesday, 8 May, from 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm; Wednesday, 15 May, from 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm; Saturday 18 May, from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm; Wednesday 22 May, from 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm.
The performance is scheduled for Friday 24 May at around 7.00 pm. The warm-up for this will take place from 6.00 pm. The venue is yet to be announced.
