The report not only presents the bare facts, but also describes specific developments and events. With its focus on being both an international and a regional institution, Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences has a unique selling point that is also reflected in the progress made in 2016. The reports from the Executive Board and the faculties highlight the diversity of the university’s tasks and initiatives. The Executive Board’s report is accompanied by evocative images from the ‘This is Us!’ photography competition, supported by the Friends’ Association of Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences (Förderverein Hochschule Rhein-Waal e. V.), in which students share their personal perspectives on the university.
Furthermore, the Executive Board’s report outlines numerous activities that were successfully implemented during the current year. For example, the first University Development Plan – drawn up in 2016 by all members of the university – was adopted this year by the relevant university governing bodies. The first of the action areas set out in the plan have already been put into practice. “The response to the university development plan within the committees was extremely positive. Together with the initial implementations, this represents a significant step towards the university’s further development,” said Dr Heide Naderer, President of Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences.
