Two new female professors are taking up their posts this winter term at the Faculty of Society and Economics on the Kleve campus of Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences. Professor Dr. phil. Marjan Alemzadeh (Dipl.-Päd.), who holds a professorship in the field of Education with a specialisation in Early Childhood Education, and Professor Dr. rer. nat. Corinna Titze (Dipl.-Psych.), who holds the Chair in Applied Psychology, will in future provide particular support to the Childhood Education and Gender and Diversity degree programmes.
Both are already familiar with Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences: Professor Alemzadeh has been working as a locum professor in this field since the summer semester of 2018. Professor Titze has been supporting the Early Childhood Education degree programme as a lecturer since 2015.
As part of their appointments as professors, they received their certificates from the University President, Dr Oliver Locker-Grütjen, at the end of August. “We are delighted to now welcome Ms Alemzadeh and Ms Titze as full-time professors to the Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences family,” said Dr Locker-Grütjen.
Marjan Alemzadeh studied Educational Sciences, specialising in Early Childhood Education, at the University of Cologne, where she also obtained her PhD in 2014. Since 2007, she has held various teaching and research posts at institutions including the University of Education in Ludwigsburg, the University of Cologne, Justus Liebig University in Giessen and the Technical University of Cologne. Alongside her university work, she has also delivered seminars and training courses for education professionals as a freelance trainer.
Corinna Titze studied psychology at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, where she also obtained her PhD in 2010. She subsequently undertook further training in the fields of mediation and systemic couple and family therapy. She worked for several years as an expert witness in family court proceedings and as a therapist for children and young people at the LVR Klinikum Bedburg-Hau. Most recently, she worked as a psychologist at the Regional School Counselling Centre for the Wesel district.
