Turn off the lights to protect the Earth
Kleve/Kamp-Lintfort, 15 March 2016: Millions of private households, numerous buildings, public spaces and landmarks across the world will switch off their lights on 19 March 2016 from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm to send a strong, united message in support of protecting our planet. Earth Hour, now in its 10th year, was launched by one of the world’s largest international nature and environmental organisations, the WWF.
Many animal species and regions are already being affected by global warming and climate change. By taking part, Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences will be actively sending a message in support of protecting the planet. Alongside Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, Schwanenburg Castle in Kleve, Kleve Collegiate Church and Volksbank Kleverland, amongst others, will also be switching off their lights.
