On 13 May, the President of Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences and the Chair of the Management Board of the Wesel Employment Agency renewed their cooperation agreement.
The cooperation agreement, which was signed at the Wesel Job Centre, sets out a commitment to further strengthen the close collaboration between Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences and the Job Centre’s career guidance service for academic professions, and to coordinate the diverse range of services offered by both institutions even more closely in future. The aim is to support young people in making the best possible start to their university studies by providing early and well-informed guidance on higher education. In addition, students and graduates are to be provided with advisory support to enable them to progress successfully through their studies and make a smooth transition into the primary labour market.
Among other things, the institutions agreed to exchange information on the university’s current range of degree programmes and to jointly organise lectures, workshops and seminars. The university’s careers advisory service also holds regular consultation hours. The agreement also includes collaboration between Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, as an employer, and the employment agency’s employer service in the recruitment of staff.

The intensive support provided to students throughout their studies facilitates a smooth transition into the world of work. To meet future demand for skilled workers, we need young people who are equally well-educated academically and professionally qualified.”
“A university degree remains a top priority for many young people and offers a good starting point in the labour market. It is therefore very important to support and advise school pupils and parents on choosing a degree programme in close consultation with the university in our region,” emphasised Barbara Ossyra, Chair of the Management Board of the Wesel Job Centre, at the signing of the cooperation agreement.
The cooperation agreement is to be updated on an ongoing basis.
