The President has informed the university and its governing bodies that she is withdrawing the offer to resign she made in the spring, with immediate effect.
The discussions over the past few weeks, during which considerable uncertainty regarding the university’s future development was expressed, were the decisive factor behind this decision. At the same time, many within the university expressed a desire for continuity in leadership. “As President of the university, I have received a great deal of encouragement over the past few weeks to tackle the university’s future development together with all members of the university community. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks for the support I have received as I continue in my role,” explains Dr Naderer.
At the same time, Dr Naderer announced that she would be carrying out a reorganisation of the Executive Board. The aim, she said, was to ensure that the diversity of expertise and opinions within the university is adequately reflected on the board. This is not possible given the Executive Board’s current composition, particularly as the resignation last week of Professor Dr Georg Hauck from the post of Vice-President for Human Resources and Organisational Development has created a need for personnel changes. “I deeply regret Professor Hauck’s decision, as I have been able to work with him in a spirit of trust over the past few years and hold him in high personal regard,” said Dr Naderer.
Dr Naderer extends a special invitation to those who do not currently feel sufficiently involved to join in shaping the university’s future together. “I am convinced that the university must tackle the challenges identified in recent weeks constructively and collectively. I am therefore delighted to be able to play a responsible part in this process, working alongside all the university’s governing bodies,” said Dr Naderer.
