Over the past few weeks and days, the Executive Board has received an increasing number of requests from international students asking it to take action to improve the situation at the Immigration Office. Following intensive discussions with Kleve District Council, a solution has been found that will significantly reduce processing times for students at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences.
From 28 February 2018, the Foreigners’ Registration Office will be open every Wednesday from 10.00 to 15.00 exclusively for students at Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences. To ensure that matters are dealt with as efficiently as possible, requests will be collected at the Welcome Centre and forwarded to the Immigration Office.
All students requiring an appointment at the Immigration Office can contact welcome-centre@hochschule-rhein-waal.de by email (using their university email address), providing full details of their enquiry, nationality, date of birth, registered address, visa expiry date and student ID number. The next steps will then be agreed upon. In this way, the university hopes, in collaboration with the District of Kleve, to have found a satisfactory solution in the students’ best interests.
