Discover your opportunities at the Faculty of Life Sciences on the Kleve Campus! We offer you five Bachelor's and three Master's degree programs (in German and English). Whether you want to know how agricultural businesses work, conduct research in a high-tech laboratory (Bioengineering), or follow the path of our food from the field to the table ("Farm-to-Fork") – we have something for your interests! Your Start into the Future: Our Bachelor's Degree Programs
Our seven-semester Bachelor's programs not only provide you with the fundamental subject knowledge but also equip you with the special skills that are in demand in today's job market – and this includes a mandatory internship!
Agribusiness, B.A.: This degree program combines agricultural knowledge with business administration. It prepares students for management roles in the globalized agricultural and food industry and emphasizes regional development and sustainability. The language of instruction is English.
Bioengineering, B.Sc.: A bridge between biology, chemistry, and engineering sciences. This interdisciplinary, English-language program deals with the development of new materials and technologies for health, agriculture, and industry. The degree program has admission restrictions and is in high international demand.
Bio Science and Health, B.Sc.: An applied science degree program in German, which focuses particularly on the challenges of the health sector. It combines natural sciences, nutrition, and health management.
Quality, Environment, Safety and Hygiene, B.Sc.: The job market urgently needs experts in compliance – that is, experts who ensure that rules, laws, and standards are adhered to. This German-language degree program trains exactly such specialists. It combines natural sciences with legal principles and management in the areas of quality, environment, occupational and product safety, and hygiene.
Sustainable Agriculture, B.Sc.: An English-language program that addresses the question of how agriculture can be made more sustainable worldwide. It combines natural and social sciences with technology, from soil science to precision farming, always with a global focus.
Master's Degree Programs: Deepening and Specialization
If you want to delve deeper into a topic after your Bachelor's degree and become an expert: Our Master's programs (usually 3 semesters full-time) are exactly right for that. Here you specialize in a specific area of Life Sciences.
Biological Resources, M.Sc.: This English-language Master's program deals with the sustainable use of biological resources in the context of the bio-based economy. It combines advanced natural sciences with engineering and socioeconomics and prepares graduates for roles as sustainability experts in various sectors. The program is designed as a Double-Degree option and can be started in both the summer and winter semesters.
Health Sciences and Management, M.Sc.: A German-language program that links health sciences with management competencies. It prepares students for leadership roles in healthcare, focusing on scientifically sound prevention and health promotion measures as well as economic control. Starting the program in the summer or winter semester is also possible.
Food Science, M.Sc.: This German-language Master's program examines the entire food chain ("From Farm to Fork") from a scientific perspective. It combines disciplines such as biology, chemistry, agricultural and engineering sciences with topics such as food safety, quality management, and product development, often in close cooperation with industry.
Your Way to Apply & Important Information
The winter semester 2025/26 is approaching! Your first step towards studying is very simple: One click takes you directly to the online application portal HISinOne portal if you obtained your Abitur in Germany. Applicants with international educational backgrounds should please use uni-assist.
For the degree programs without admission restrictions Bio Science and Health, B.Sc., Quality, Environment, Safety and Hygiene, B.Sc., as well as the Master's programs Health Sciences and Management, M.Sc. and Food Science, M.Sc., applications are possible until August 31, 2025. For other degree programs, especially those with admission restrictions (NC), the deadlines may be earlier.
