Fellowship at the „Center for Research and Graduate Education” at the German-Kazakh Universiy in Almaty / Kazakhstan

In the context of a fellowship by Prof. Dr. Jakob Lempp, Professor for Politicial Science at the „Center for Research and Graduate Education” at the German-Kazakh University in Almaty / Kazakhstan issues on the future role of Germany and the European Union in Central Asia and other issues has been discussed. 

Werkstatt an der Grenze in 2021

Jakob Lempp, Professor for Political Science with a focus on International Relations, and Katja Flockau, scientific assistant for Central Course Management with focus on International Relations und Gender and Diversity, represented the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences in a joint workshop with the University of Duisburg-Essen, the Radboud Universiteit and the Hogeschool van Arnhem en Nijmegen in the “Werkstatt an der Grenze”. The spring school, which took place on the Kleve campus in 2018, was taken to the virtual space for the first time in 2021.

Virtual Closing Ceremony for the Cooperation "Botschafter*innen der Vielfalt"

The cooperation in the “Botschafter*innen der Vielfalt“ (Ambassadors of Diversity) project of Haus Mifgash and the study programmes Gender and Diversity as well as International Relations concluded with a virtual closing ceremony. Over the summer semester, under the direction of Katja Flockau, students from both programmes designed, conducted and analysed semi-structured interviews with people from Kleve, who represent different aspects of diversity.

Fresher's Week: Faculty Day Society and Economics on Thursday (23.09.)

This year's "Freshers' Week" starts on September, 20th at the Rhine-Waal University for the winter semester 2021/2022. The Faculty of Society and Economics also wants to welcome their new students. On the faculty day (Thursday 23.09.), the freshers will learn about the offers and the organization of the faculty including a presentation of the Students Representative Body of the Faculty of Society and Economics.

Preparatory Courses Winter Semester 2021/22

The preparatory courses of the faculty of society and economics are starting a few weeks befor winter semester and are directed towards first semester students of the bachelor programmes. Their goal is to harmonise or refresh the students' level of knowledge.

From theory to practical experience

The marketing project for twelve students from International Business and Management, B.A. at the faculty of society and economics started with the task to create a marketing concept for Radrenngemeinschaft Kleverland e.V. (RRG Kleverland e.V.). Prof Dr Philipp Schorn and Fabian Dargel, M.Sc. supervised the students over the entirely project. After a self-contained analysis of the structure of the association, an analysis of the potential market, as well as a specific target group definition, the students were ready to present the results in a final concept to the board of RRG Kleverland e.V.

The postgraduate course Sustainable Development Management M.A., offered by Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, is the first sustainable development degree programme in Germany to receive international accreditation. The accreditation commission praised in particular the programme’s integration of theory and practice. More
