In the context of a fellowship at the „Center for Research and Graduate Education” at the German-Kazakh University in Almaty / Kazakhstan, Prof. Dr. Jakob Lempp discussed with MP Johann Saathoff, the coordinator of the German federal government for transnational cooperation with Russia, Central Asia and the countries of the Eastern Partnerhip, with Monika Iwersen, ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Kazakhstan and with Prof. Dr. Wolrad Rommel, president of the German-Kazakh University. The discussion focused among other issues on the future role of Germany and the European Union in Central Asia. Prof. Dr. Jakob Lempp currently is involved in a research project on this complex, most importantly on the question, which role Germany and the European Union may play in the context of the transformation of Central Asian countries towards a more sustainable carbon-free economy.
