Virtual Closing Ceremony for the Cooperation "Botschafter*innen der Vielfalt"

The cooperation in the “Botschafter*innen der Vielfalt“ (Ambassadors of Diversity) project of Haus Mifgash and the study programmes Gender and Diversity as well as International Relations concluded with a virtual closing ceremony. Over the summer semester, under the direction of Katja Flockau, students from both programmes designed, conducted and analysed semi-structured interviews with people from Kleve, who represent different aspects of diversity. For the students, this was often the first intensive encounter with someone with a refugee experience, an openly queer person or a Jewish woman with a family history in the Holocaust. For the final event, the students created short films of the interviews in order to further multiply the experiences from these encounters. Anni Velkova-Rehm and Thomas Ruffmann, the heads of the project, were visibly enthusiastic about the results and the experience reports of the students. "That is exactly what we were hoping for when we wrote the project application at the time," says Thomas Ruffmann.
