Die beiden Studentinnen Sandra Neuhäuser (Sustainable Development Management, M.A.) und Svenja Erfkämper (Sustainable Agriculture, B.Sc.) freuen sich über das Gründerstipendium NRW. Mit ihrer „Ringelbox“ haben die Studentinnen einen speziell für den Innenbereich von Kindergärten und Schulen abgestimmten Wurmkomposter entwickelt. Eine durchsichtige Vorderwand in der Box gibt Einblick in das Innenleben des Komposters und bringt Kindern so die natürlichen Abbauprozesse nahe.

Even before the corona pandemic, Niall Juval Janssen and Max Liedtke - two international relations students - led by Dr. Jan Niklas Rolf carried out two simulations of the United Nations Security Council in the laboratories of the Faculty of Society and Economics. The existing and a reformed Security Council were simulated over several days and the decisions made were then compared with one another. The surprising results have now been published as a discussion paper in the Discussion Papers in Behavioral Sciences and Economics series.

Es könnte der Anfang der ersten Fachhochschule in Ostafrika sein: Ende Januar hat die erste Konferenz des „Expert Advisory Board for Applied Sciences in East Africa“ (Expert*innenrat für angewandte Wissenschaften in Ost-Afrika) stattgefunden. 20 Mitglieder aus den Bereichen Hochschule, berufliche Bildung, Wirtschaft und Industrie haben sich in verschiedenen Workshops über relevante Aspekte für den Aufbau einer Fachhochschule ausgetauscht.

Mitglieder der Hochschule Rhein-Waal und des Berufskollegs Kleve des Kreises Kleve unterzeichneten am Mittwoch, 24. Februar 2021, einen Kooperationsvertrag über die weitere Zusammenarbeit. On January 15th 2021, the Faculty of Society and Economics said goodbye to its graduates in their first Virtual Graduation Ceremony. After the festive ceremony, virtual meetings were held within the study programmes.

An international team of students of the Master Programme Sustainable Development Management, M.A. in collaboration with the One World Net NRW, have developed a consumer guide for a sustainable lifestyle within the Lower Rhine region, as part of their project course „Applied Project in Sustainable Development“.
