The preparatory courses of the Faculty of Society and Economics take place a few weeks before the start of the winter semester and are aimed at those beginning their Bachelor's degree. Their aim is to standardize or refresh the knowledge of the students.

For the winter semester 2022/2023, we offer all bachelor's degree programs in the period from 05.09. - 16.09. the following preparatory courses:

     Business mathematics in German

     Economics in English

     Business English

     Scientific writing in English

Submarine captain Frauke Waßmuth took a whole six honours for the submarine team from Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences (HSRW) at the international competition "European International Submarine Races". The team from Kleve won the top prize in almost all categories. Read more

Our alumna Sumya Sydunnaher graduated with her master degree in Sustainable Development Management in 2021. Currently, as a project officer at Community Reconstruction Center (CRC), she is working for a “Sanitation Behaviour Change Project” funded by the Japan Association of Drainage and Environment (JADE), in Khulna, Bangladesh. Despite facing the hardship of studying during the global pandemic, she also describes the program as a diverse space with an exceptional academic atmosphere.

On July 9th, a summery Saturday evening, the first story walk took place in the Kleve Zoo: Numerous curious listeners had gathered in front of the entrance gate to listen to students from the Creative Writing Workshop at the Faculty of Society and Economics. Led by the lecturer for Creative Writing, Renate Schmitz-Gebel, the group moved through the Tiergarten. Again and again, they stopped to read in front of individual enclosures. Then students Fiona Kahlau, Anna-Lisa Adam, Anna-Vanessa Bokarev and Modei Blank presented their texts.

Der Wissenschaftsrat empfiehlt die Verleihung des Promotionsrechts an das Promotionskolleg der Hochschulen für angewandte Wissenschaften in Nordrhein-Westfalen. Damit sind die Hochschulen für angewandte Wissenschaften (HAW) ihrem Ziel, unabhängig von der Kooperation mit Universitäten Doktortitel zu verleihen, ein Stück näher gekommen.  Weiterlesen
