Kleve: New items in the Library of Things

The Library of Things in Kleve has been expanded to include several new items, which are now available for loan:

  • 54-piece toolbox
  • 59-piece socket wrench set
  • Revolving punch pliers
  • 6 kg kettlebell
  • 10 kg kettlebell
  • Vinyl dumbbell set comprising two dumbbells each weighing 0.5, 1 and 1.5 kg
  • Badminton set
  • Frisbee
  • Soccer ball

The same borrowing and return conditions apply as for the other items in the Library of Things. Borrowing across different locations is not possible, but students from Kamp-Lintfort can borrow and return items on site in Kleve.

Kleve: Opening hours Examination period 06 July – 01 August 2026

From Monday, 06 July 2026, up to and including Saturday, 01 August 2026, the library in Kleve offers extended opening hours until 10 pm.

In this context, please note the following information:

  • Our group study rooms can be reserved and used for the time until shortly before 10 pm.
  • The information desk is staffed until 9 pm, on Saturdays until 6 pm. Please note the library's service hours.

For the library in Kamp-Lintfort, the opening and service hours of the lecture period apply (Monday to Friday 9 am – 8 pm, Saturday 11 am – 6 pm).

Please note also the extended opening hours of the Long Nights.

Extended opening hours are made possible by central quality improvement funds.

Kamp-Lintfort: EC card payments currently not possible

The library in Kamp-Lintfort does currently not offer EC card payments of fees on site. We kindly ask you to make payments by bank transfer instead.

E-resources: Free access to RP Online with RP+ CampusPass - Deadline extended

Students at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences have free access to the Rheinische Post digital news platform until 31 March 2027. At rp-online.de, you will find regional content on politics, society, science and culture. If you are interested, please register with your university email address at http://www.rp-online.de/campuspass5. Access expires automatically; cancellation is not required.

Use of screen readers

The library now offers screen readers for people with visual impairments at both locations. The ‘Merlin Elite Pro’ screen readers have a magnification and read-aloud function for printed media and electronic content. 

If you are interested in using it, please email bibliothek@hochschule-rhein-waal.de to make an appointment. A mobile table with a screen reader, a laptop and headphones will then be made available to you in a quiet room. If you would like to use books from the library, we will also be happy to provide these on request. If you are using the devices for the first time, we will be happy to give you a brief introduction.
