The library will be closed on Feast of Corpus Christi, Thursday, 19 June 2025.

E-resources: Changes to the search interface of the EBSCO Business Source Ultimate database

The search interface of the EBSCO Business Source Ultimate database has been customised by the library. The new interface offers improved browsing options and better navigation to make it easier to find company profiles, industry information, business data and market research. You can find the database in Katalog PLUS under ‘Additional Resources’.

Kamp-Lintfort: Open Day on 14 June 2025

On Saturday, 14 June 2025, the library in Kamp-Lintfort will take part in the Open Day. Come and visit us and get to know the library better with a quiz or a short tour. Outside, we will give you a first insight into the library of things, why not play a round of Swedish chess, cornhole or boccia with us!

Students please note that due to the increased public traffic, it may be a little busier and louder than usual!

No more cash payments from 02 June 2025

From Monday, 2 June 2025, it will no longer be possible to pay fees in cash at the library. You will then be able to pay your fees cashless by EC card on site or conveniently by bank transfer. All further information on fees and bank details can be found on our website.

OFFER: One-to-One Support in Literature Search

Do you need help with research for a term paper? During a one-to-one consultation, we can take the time to focus on your request and will be happy to advise you on literature research and information gathering for your individual topic.

Individual advice sessions take place by prior appointment in the advising room in Kleve (18 01 011) or online via Webex. If you are interested, please make an appointment by e-mail to informationsdienste@hochschule-rhein-waal.de.

E-Resources: Change of authentication for CAS SciFinder-n database

On 1 April, the authentication mechanism for the CAS SciFinder-n database was changed to Shibboleth to ensure faster access. The first time you log in via the new link, the database still requires an intermediate step in which you must enter your data to correctly link the existing user account. Afterwards, the additional login step will no longer be necessary. Please also remember to update the link if you have bookmarked the database in your browser.

New here? We offer students and other interested parties guided tours of the library for groups of three or more. Here you will get an overview of the library's services and facilities. Our guide will show you how to find and borrow printed and electronic media and how to register to use the library.

Use of screen readers

The library now offers screen readers for people with visual impairments at both locations. The ‘Merlin Elite Pro’ screen readers have a magnification and read-aloud function for printed media and electronic content. 

If you are interested in using it, please email bibliothek@hochschule-rhein-waal.de to make an appointment. A mobile table with a screen reader, a laptop and headphones will then be made available to you in a quiet room. If you would like to use books from the library, we will also be happy to provide these on request. If you are using the devices for the first time, we will be happy to give you a brief introduction.
