Library
Borrow, don’t buy: Library of Things launches in January 2026
Contribute to resource-saving and environmentally conscious consumption with every loan – this is what the Library of Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences is offering its users in Kleve from 5 January and in Kamp-Lintfort from 26 January 2026 with its “Library of Things”.
Users can choose from toolboxes, outdoor games and sports equipment, which can be borrowed free of charge with a valid library card. From balance boards to table tennis sets, the library offers items that may be rarely used in everyday life, are too expensive to purchase, or that people simply want to try out. This prevents people from buying items for their own households that will remain unused eventually.
The selection of items is primarily geared towards the main target group of students. However, citizens aged 16 and over can also obtain a free library card if they are interested and borrow items – as well as books, of course. You can browse the library's online catalogue or on site at the shelf near the information desk. The items can be borrowed for 14 days at the library's information desk. Further information on the use can be found on our website under service.
