As part of the project course „Media, Communication, Politics“, students of International Relations and Professor Alexander Brand were given the opportunity to visit the headquarters of German international broadcaster Deutsche Welle in Bonn on 4 December. Ninety exciting minutes of intense debate were reserved for discussing the goals and activities of DW as well as the self-image of the journalists working for DW.

In der Fakultätsratssitzung am 14.11.2018 wurde der Prof. Dr. Ralf Klapdor von den Fakultätsratsmitgliedern einstimmig zum Dekan gewählt. Er tritt somit am 1.3.2019 die Nachfolge des derzeitigen Dekans Prof. Dr. Jakob Lempp an.

Prof. Dr. Ralf Klapdor ist seit dem 1.10.2010 für den Studiengang International Taxation and Law B.A. als Professor Betriebswirtschaftslehre mit dem Schwerpunkt Internationale Besteuerung tätig. Bereits in der Zeit von Dezember 2010 bis März 2015 unterstützte Prof. Dr. Ralf Klapdor den Gründungsdekan Prof. Dr. Hasan Alkas als Prodekan und seit dem 1.12.2012 ist er auch Vorsitzender des Prüfungsausschusses.

Since this year Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences has been a member of the World Affairs Council of Western Michigan in Grand Rapids / USA. The dean of the faculty met for the first time with the Executive Director of the WACWM, Michael Van Denend, as well as with the program director Erica Kubik. Various options for in-depth cooperation between the two institutions were discussed.

On Wednesday, 17 Octobre, the Faculty of Society and Economics invited all of its students to coffee, cake and waffles in the foyer of the Audimax building. The aim of the event was to welcome the new students, exchange ideas with ‘old’ and ‘new’ students alike and at the same time inform about various services available to students. From 1:00 pm onwards, the students started to fill the foyer, gathered information at the many different stands with homemade cake and cookies, and took part in the faculty rallye, followed by a lottery.

Bereits zur fünften Unternehmertagung mit dem Oberthema „Steuer- und Sozialrecht an Rhein und Waal“ trafen sich Steuerberater, Wissenschaftler, Unternehmer, Studierende und Vereinsmitglieder des Förderverein Campus Cleve e.V. an der Hochschule Rhein-Waal. Die diesjährige Tagung wurde über das Thema „Digitalisierung und Ihre Auswirkung für Unternehmer im Grenzraum“ abgehalten.
