Open Gardens in Kleverland: HSRW Open Tropical House Day
The Tropical House and Gardens will open their doors and gates to all curious visitors on Sunday, 29 June 2025, from 11 am to 3 pm. Immerse yourself in a world full of exotic and native plants - from pineapples to onions.
In our ultra-modern tropical greenhouse and the extensive educational and show gardens, we present the plant diversity of the tropics and temperate latitudes. On 315 m² under glass and almost 1600 m² outdoors, there is biodiversity to touch for young and old. Discover the annual garden, the ‘Living Table’ and a meadow orchard with barefoot nature trail and bee colonies.
Let your senses explore the horticultural world of useful plants: Look, feel, smell, taste and listen carefully. Our dedicated team and students will be happy to guide you through the gardens, give you an insight into current research projects and introduce you to the crops of the future.
