Teaching as a real-world laboratory – with and in practice
With Julia Wiethüchter, Dr. Rebecca Froese, Dr. Dani*el*a Pastoors (Center for Interdisciplinary Sustainability Research, University of Münster)
In recent years, real-world laboratories have established themselves as an important institution in transdisciplinary and transformative research and education. They function as experimental spaces where people can learn together and develop and test sustainable ideas, approaches, and solutions to real-world challenges. In this way, they can contribute to the sustainable development and socio-ecological transformation of our society.
In the impulse “Teaching as a real-world laboratory,” experiences from the work of colleagues at the University of Münster will be shared, with a focus on a real-world laboratory in university teaching (Diversity Lab). The input will present how the real-world laboratory was designed, how the events were structured, and what insights were gained. Afterwards, there will be time for discussion about “lessons learned” in designing a real-world laboratory in a teaching context.
The event will take place in a hybrid format:
On site: 03 EG 010, Kleve Campus
