Historic monuments tell stories and characterise our culture. But did you know that the preservation of monuments not only preserves our past, but also makes a valuable contribution to climate protection? The sustainable use of existing buildings saves resources, reduces CO₂ emissions and promotes the reuse of materials.

Sebastian Held, heritage conservationist for the city of Xanten, gives an exciting presentation on how heritage conservation and climate protection go hand in hand. He explains the ecological benefits of maintaining historic buildings and what sustainable monument conservation looks like in practice.

During the subsequent guided tour through the monument city of Xanten, you will discover how the combination of tradition and innovation can open up new paths for a climate-friendly future.

This event takes place as part of the DialogPunkt Xanten in cooperation with the city of Xanten.
